ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two different creams for treating a common skin condition called tinea pedis, also known as athlete's foot. Specifically, the trial compares a 2% Sertaconazole cream to a 1% Clotrimazole cream to see which one works better at relieving the symptoms, such as redness, itching, and scaling. The study will take place at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, where participants will be randomly assigned to use one of the two creams twice a day for four weeks.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have signs of tinea pedis confirmed by a skin test. Those who have certain health conditions, such as diabetes or infections, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, cannot participate. Throughout the study, participants will receive weekly check-ups to monitor their progress and any side effects. At the end of the four weeks, doctors will assess how well the treatments worked by examining the skin and reviewing photos taken before and after treatment. This trial aims to find the best option for treating athlete's foot and helping patients feel better.
