ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a combination of special breathing exercises and manual techniques can help people with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). The researchers want to find out if these methods can reduce GERD symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients. They will compare three groups: one group will do breathing exercises, another group will do the breathing exercises along with manual techniques, and a third group will not receive any active treatment. All participants will perform the breathing exercises at home, while the manual techniques will be applied twice a week by a therapist.
To be part of this study, participants need to be diagnosed with GERD and currently taking a specific medication called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). However, individuals with certain conditions, such as a large hiatal hernia, serious lung or heart diseases, or those who have had major surgeries recently, will not be eligible. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help find better treatments for GERD, which could lead to improved health and comfort for many people suffering from this condition.
