Stroke Brain Injury Biomarkers Biosensor Response To Treatment

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how certain tiny particles in the blood, called extracellular vesicles, can help predict recovery for patients who have suffered a stroke or severe brain injury. Currently, it can be challenging to know how well someone will recover after these events, especially during their hospital stay when they might face complications like infections. By analyzing these extracellular vesicles, the researchers hope to find early signs that indicate how a patient is likely to improve, which could help personalize their rehabilitation plan.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be between 65 and 74 years old and have experienced their first stroke within the last month or a severe brain injury within the last three months. They also need to require rehabilitation and provide consent for participation. Participants can expect to undergo tests that will help researchers understand the differences in these blood particles during their recovery process. This study aims to improve care for patients by identifying who might need different types of support as they heal.
