ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "The Impact of Sensory Integration on Attention in Autism," is exploring how different ways of presenting sounds and images affect attention and task performance in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) compared to those without autism. Researchers want to find out if showing sounds and images at the same time makes it harder for individuals with autism to focus and respond accurately. They believe that separating the sounds and images might help improve their performance. Participants will be asked to complete tasks that involve matching sounds and images while their reaction times and accuracy are measured.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to have a diagnosis of autism and a certain level of cognitive ability. Those with significant hearing or vision problems, other medical conditions, or a history of psychiatric issues will not be included. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged between 14 and 38 years, regardless of gender. Those who take part will experience two different ways of receiving information—simultaneous and separate—and help researchers learn more about how these methods can support better learning and performance for individuals with autism in everyday settings.
