ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how mindfulness-based meditation can help older adults, specifically those aged 65 and above, feel less lonely and improve their overall well-being. The researchers want to find out if practicing mindfulness can make participants feel more connected to others, reduce feelings of depression, increase life satisfaction, and even help with sleep quality. To do this, they will compare a group that participates in the meditation sessions with a group that does not receive any immediate intervention, allowing researchers to see if the meditation truly makes a difference.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 65 years old, speak Italian, and have no cognitive impairments. Those who have serious mental health issues or significant medical problems, as well as those struggling with substance dependence, cannot join. Participants will complete some assessments before starting the 12 meditation sessions, which will take place over six weeks, and then they will have follow-up assessments to see how their mental and physical health has changed. This study aims to provide valuable insights into how mindfulness can enhance the quality of life for older adults.
