ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special training program can help people with abdominal wall hernias. These hernias can cause pain and discomfort, affecting daily life. The training program includes a mix of exercises that focus on strength, flexibility, and mobility, which have been shown to improve health and well-being in other conditions. The main goal of the study is to see if this program can reduce pain, improve quality of life, and enhance physical strength in patients both before and after surgery to repair the hernia.
To join the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have a ventral hernia that is 4 cm or larger. Those with smaller hernias or serious physical and cognitive issues that limit their mobility won’t be eligible. Participants will be asked to commit to the training program and will be monitored for changes in their health and strength. This research aims to provide valuable insights on how exercise can benefit patients with abdominal wall hernias, potentially leading to better outcomes after surgery.
