ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to perform a surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is used to remove the gallbladder in patients with gallstones. Traditionally, this surgery is done using four small openings (or ports) in the abdomen. The trial will compare this method to a newer technique that only uses three ports to see if the outcomes, or results, are similar. The goal is to find out if using fewer ports makes the surgery just as safe and effective.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be diagnosed with gallstones and scheduled for this surgery. Both men and women aged between 18 and 75 can take part, but those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or need a different type of surgery will not be included. If someone joins the study, they can expect to receive either the traditional four-port surgery or the three-port technique, and their recovery will be monitored to evaluate the results. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how we can perform this common surgery more efficiently.
