ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping higher education students in Belgium develop healthier eating habits and prevent weight gain during their transition from high school to college. Over eight weeks, students will participate in two different nutrition programs that include strategies like healthy meal options in campus cafeterias, social media campaigns on Instagram, and engaging workshops. Researchers will assess the success of these programs by asking students to complete surveys before the programs start, right after they finish, and again five months later. Some campuses will also serve as a control group to help compare the results.
To join the study, participants must be healthy students aged 18 to 24 enrolled in higher education and able to speak Dutch. Those involved in running the nutrition programs, like staff and administrators, can also participate if they have relevant knowledge about the initiative. Participants can expect to learn about making better food choices and have the chance to share their experiences with the program. If these interventions show positive results, they might be expanded to other colleges in the region as part of a larger effort to promote healthier lifestyles and prevent diseases like cancer.
