ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new technique using special ultrasound methods during surgery for women who have deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) that may involve the bowel. The goal is to see if these ultrasound methods, called intraoperative transvaginal ultrasound (IOTVUS) and endorectal ultrasound (IOERUS), can help doctors better identify and treat the affected areas during surgery. This study is currently recruiting participants, and women aged 65 to 74 who have been diagnosed with bowel DIE and are scheduled for surgery are eligible to join.
If you decide to participate, you will need to provide written consent before the surgery and agree to follow up with the research team for at least 12 months after your procedure. It’s important to note that this study is not for women who are pregnant, those who are having surgery just to diagnose a problem, or those who may have difficulty understanding Spanish or English. By joining this trial, you could help researchers understand how to improve surgical outcomes for women with this challenging condition.
