ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different pain management techniques affect recovery after surgery for a rotator cuff tear, which is a common shoulder injury. Specifically, it compares two groups of patients: one group will receive a combination of nerve blocks (injections that numb certain areas) to help with pain relief during and after surgery, while the other group will receive a similar treatment but with a placebo (a harmless saline solution) instead of the nerve blocks. The researchers want to see how much pain patients feel and how satisfied they are with their pain management at various times after their surgery.
To be eligible to participate, you need to be at least 20 years old and have a confirmed rotator cuff tear that requires surgical repair, as seen on an MRI. You should also be open to receiving the regional pain block and other procedures involved in the study. Participants can expect to provide blood samples at different times to help the researchers understand how the body responds to pain and treatment. It's important to note that this trial is not recruiting participants yet, and there are specific medical conditions that would exclude someone from taking part, such as previous shoulder surgeries or certain neurological disorders.
