ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called Emotional Regulation Skills Training (ERST) to help high school students aged 14-16 who are having some trouble managing their emotions. The main goal is to see if this group intervention can reduce emotional difficulties and improve skills for handling feelings in adolescents who are experiencing mild emotional dysregulation. The program will take place during school hours, and researchers will measure changes in students' emotional well-being before and after the program, as well as three months later. Teachers will also provide feedback on the students' emotional symptoms to help assess the program's effectiveness.
To participate, students need to be in their first or second year of high school, currently enrolled in school, and referred for help with managing their emotions. They should have scores indicating they are experiencing some emotional challenges. However, students already receiving regular psychological treatment will not be eligible for this trial. Participants can expect to attend sessions during school, fill out surveys about their feelings at different times, and receive assessments from their teachers to track their progress. This study aims to understand how effective the ERST program is in helping students improve their emotional skills.
