ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Specialist Network Infectious Diseases, is focused on understanding various infectious diseases and their effects on patients. The study will collect health information and biological samples from adults hospitalized in university hospitals across Germany. The main goal is to create a comprehensive database that includes clinical data and samples of the pathogens causing the infections, which can help researchers identify changes in infections and develop better treatments in the future. Participants will be recruited if they have infections related to the respiratory system, bloodstream, gastrointestinal system, or central nervous system, among others.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and able to provide consent to join the trial. There are no specific exclusion criteria, which means that as long as individuals meet the inclusion criteria, they can participate. Participants can expect to provide health information and biological samples at the beginning and end of their hospital stay, with additional visits if necessary. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to play an important role in improving our understanding of infections and how to treat them more effectively in the future.
