ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how burn injuries affect the way our bodies form and break down blood clots. The study will use a special blood test called thromboelastography (TEG) to see if the size of the burn (measured by how much of the body is burned) is related to changes in blood clotting. Researchers want to learn how these changes happen in the weeks following a burn injury and whether they can help predict a patient's recovery or possible complications. By understanding these patterns better, the study aims to improve how doctors monitor and treat burn patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have been admitted to the hospital with a recent burn injury. They also need to agree to take part in the study. However, people who have a history of certain blood clotting issues will not be included. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who join can expect to provide blood samples for testing and to contribute to important research that could improve care for future burn patients.
