ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on finding the best way to prepare patients for a specialized heart scan called Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA). The study is comparing four different methods to help lower heart rates before the scan, which is important because a faster heart rate can make the imaging less clear and may increase radiation exposure. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: one will take a beta-blocker medication by mouth, another will receive it through an IV, and a third group will listen to music during the procedure to see if it helps them feel more comfortable. The trial aims to find out which method keeps the heart rate more stable and improves the overall experience for patients.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a referral for a Cardiac CT exam. Some individuals may not be able to join the trial, such as those with certain heart conditions or severe medical issues. Throughout the study, participants will share their experiences before, during, and after the scan, helping researchers understand the effectiveness of the different methods being tested. This is an exciting opportunity to improve how heart scans are conducted and make the process easier for patients.
