ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the levels of a substance called preptin in the cord blood of newborns. Researchers want to see if there is a connection between a baby’s birth weight—whether they are large, small, or normal for their age—and the amount of preptin in their blood. They will also compare the preptin levels in babies born to mothers with diabetes to those of normal weight babies.
If you have a newborn who is either large for their age, small for their age, or has a normal weight, they may be eligible to participate in the study. The trial is currently recruiting infants, and it’s open to all genders. Participants will need consent from their families to join. This study could help us understand more about how birth weight and conditions like diabetes may affect newborn health.
