ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The researchers want to know if taking omega-3 supplements can help reduce disease activity, improve function, reduce fatigue, and enhance sleep quality in people with RA. The trial will be conducted at the Rheumatology Department of Charles Nicolle Hospital over a period of 10 months. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one group will receive omega-3 supplements, while the other group will receive a placebo (a harmless substitute that looks like the omega-3 capsules but contains olive oil instead).
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with RA according to specific medical guidelines. However, those with allergies to fish or seafood, certain blood disorders, or severe health issues affecting the liver or kidneys will not be able to participate. Throughout the study, participants will take their assigned capsules for three months and will be asked to complete questionnaires to assess their overall health, including their disease activity and sleep quality. This trial aims to gather important information that could help improve treatment options for people living with rheumatoid arthritis.
