ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Fit4MedRob-Chronic MND Project, is looking at how effective high-tech rehabilitation treatments are for patients with chronic neuromuscular diseases like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT). The researchers want to find out if using advanced tools like robotic systems and virtual reality can help improve balance, motor skills, fatigue, and overall quality of life, just as well as traditional rehabilitation methods do.
To participate, individuals must have a confirmed diagnosis of one of the specified neuromuscular diseases and be able to walk either independently or with some assistance. They should also be capable of understanding and following the study guidelines and must provide consent to join. However, people with serious medical conditions that could affect their safety during the trial or those currently involved in other clinical studies cannot participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it offers a chance to explore innovative rehabilitation options that may enhance living with these challenging conditions.
