ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how artificial intelligence (AI) can help improve ultrasound scans of the wrist and hand joints. The goal is to create an AI system that can automatically recognize important areas during the scans and help save images, making it easier for sonographers (the technicians who perform ultrasounds) to do their job. The trial will involve training sonographers who are not specialized in muscle and joint ultrasounds and comparing how fast and accurately they can scan using the AI system versus without it.
To participate, healthy volunteers aged 65 to 74 or 36 to 52 years old, as well as patients with early-stage rheumatoid arthritis (RA), can join if they have no significant joint or nerve issues. However, people with amputations or severe joint deformities cannot participate. Additionally, experienced sonographers with at least five years of ultrasound experience can help validate the AI system, as long as they haven’t trained in musculoskeletal ultrasounds before. Participants can expect to contribute to the development of new technology that could improve the diagnosis and treatment of joint diseases in the future.
