ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how artificial intelligence (AI) can help predict complications after a specific type of surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). An AAA is when the aorta, the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body, becomes enlarged. One way to treat this condition is by using a less invasive method called endovascular surgery, where a special device is placed inside the aorta through a small incision. While this method is promising, doctors want to ensure that there are no leaks from the device after surgery. Researchers are exploring the use of AI to automatically analyze medical images for signs of potential leaks, which could help doctors monitor patients more effectively.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and must have received treatment for an abdominal aortic aneurysm using the endovascular method. Certain patients, such as those who had specific additional procedures during surgery or who do not want their data used in the study, will not be included. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to help researchers understand how AI can improve patient care by providing insights based on their medical images. This study is an exciting step towards better monitoring and outcomes for patients who have undergone this type of surgery.
