ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain tiny molecules in the blood, called miRNAs, are related to problems in the carotid arteries, which supply blood to the brain. Researchers want to understand how these molecules are connected to both symptomatic (causing symptoms) and asymptomatic (not causing symptoms) carotid artery disease, the shape of carotid plaques, and future heart-related events. The goal is to find out if these miRNAs can help predict who might face more serious health issues.
If you're between 18 and 74 years old and have been diagnosed with significant narrowing of the internal carotid artery, you might be eligible to participate in this study. However, if you've been referred for a type of procedure called carotid artery stenting, you won't be able to take part. Participants can expect to provide blood samples for testing and help researchers learn more about the link between these molecules and cardiovascular health. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and your involvement could contribute to important findings in understanding carotid artery diseases.
