ClinConnect Summary
This study tests whether providing perioperative nursing education materials through QR codes during students’ clinical practice helps nursing students learn more and develop a more positive view of using evidence in nursing. It’s a randomized trial with two groups: a QR Code Group and a Control Group, planned to enroll about 60 second‑year nursing students in Ankara, Turkey, who are at least 18 years old and have previously taken the surgical diseases nursing course. Participants will know which group they’re in, since the study uses no masking.
If you join, you would be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The QR Code Group gets ongoing access to QR code–linked educational materials during their clinical practice, while the Control Group uses the standard curriculum. After the clinical practice, all participants take a knowledge test (20 questions, scored 0–100) and an Attitude toward Evidence-Based Nursing questionnaire (15 items, 15–75). The main goal is to see if the QR materials improve knowledge, with a secondary goal of improving attitudes toward evidence-based nursing. The trial is currently enrolling by invitation, with results not yet available, and is expected to complete around March 2025.
