ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of therapy called gut-directed hypnotherapy (GDH) delivered through telehealth, which means you can participate from home using a computer or smartphone. The goal is to see how effective this therapy is for people suffering from gastrointestinal (GI) issues, which are problems related to digestion and the gut. Researchers want to understand both the specific benefits of hypnotherapy and any general improvements in GI health that participants might experience.
To take part in the study, you need to be at least 18 years old, speak English, and have GI symptoms that relate to how your brain interacts with your gut. Unfortunately, people under 18, pregnant women, and those with certain severe mental health conditions cannot join. If you’re eligible and decide to participate, you’ll attend a series of hypnotherapy sessions and fill out some surveys before and after these sessions to help the researchers see how well the therapy is working. This could be an opportunity to explore a new way to manage your GI health!
