ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying infections in newborns who are being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Assuit University Children Hospital. The goal is to understand the types of bacteria that cause these infections and how sensitive they are to different antibiotics, which are the medicines used to treat infections. This information can help doctors choose the best treatment for newborns who may get infections while in the hospital.
To participate in this study, babies must be less than 28 days old and have been in the hospital for more than 48 hours but should not show any signs of infection when they arrive. The study is currently not recruiting participants, so there’s no need to worry about signing up just yet. If a baby meets the criteria and the family agrees to take part, they can expect to contribute to important research that could improve care for other newborns in the future.
