ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different ways to perform total knee replacement surgery for patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis, which is when the cartilage in the knee wears down, causing pain and difficulty moving. One method uses a robot to help place the knee replacement parts accurately, while the other uses augmented reality technology to guide the surgeon. Both techniques are commonly used, and the goal of the study is to see if they are equally effective in ensuring the knee replacement is placed correctly, which can improve the overall outcome for patients.

To participate in this study, individuals aged 18 to 85 who are scheduled for their first total knee replacement surgery due to osteoarthritis may be eligible. However, those who have had knee surgery recently, have certain medical conditions, or are involved in other clinical trials cannot participate. Participants will be asked to sign a consent form and can expect to receive personalized care during the trial, helping researchers learn more about which surgical technique might be best for future patients.
