ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether adding strength training to regular aerobic exercise can improve the health and quality of life for people with Parkinson's disease, compared to just doing aerobic exercise alone. Researchers want to see if this combined training helps with physical performance, disease severity, and even certain blood markers related to health. Participants will take part in training sessions twice a week for 12 weeks, and their progress will be measured before and after the training, as well as three months later. Some selected participants will also receive a smartwatch to track their steps throughout the study.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease. They should also be stable on their Parkinson's medication and have a certain level of disease severity. However, those who are 75 years or older, have more advanced stages of Parkinson's, or have specific movement issues will not be able to participate. This study offers a chance to explore new ways to manage Parkinson's symptoms and improve overall well-being.
