ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how ultrasound images of the temporal and axillary arteries relate to the risk of relapse in patients with Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA). GCA is a condition that causes inflammation in certain blood vessels, and researchers want to see if certain ultrasound findings can help predict whether a patient may experience a return of symptoms. The study will use a specific scoring system called the OGUS score to evaluate these ultrasound results and their connection to the overall health of patients with GCA.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults who meet specific criteria for having GCA. This includes being diagnosed according to the latest guidelines. However, some people may not be eligible, such as those who cannot understand the study or are not part of the French Social Security system. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to undergo ultrasound evaluations and contribute to valuable research that may improve understanding and treatment of GCA in the future.
