ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on developing a quick test to diagnose Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), a serious illness that can be life-threatening. Currently, diagnosing CCHF takes several days, which delays treatment and increases risks for patients and their families. This new test, created by researchers at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Global Access Diagnostics, aims to provide results much faster, helping doctors treat patients sooner and prevent the spread of the virus, especially in regions like Türkiye where the disease is more common.

To participate in the trial, you must be an adult aged 18 or older and willing to provide blood samples that are suspected to contain the CCHF virus. The researchers will test these samples to see how accurately the new test can detect the virus and whether it can work well under different storage conditions. If the test proves successful, it could lead to a larger study in 2026 to gain official approval for use. This trial is an important step toward improving diagnosis and care for people affected by CCHF.
