ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "The Myofascial System and Minimizing the Risk of Injury in Sport," is studying how a technique called myofascial self-release can help young soccer players. The goal is to see if this technique can improve muscle function and performance while reducing the risk of injuries among athletes aged 14 to 18 years. To participate, athletes must be healthy and injury-free for the last three months, and they should be registered with a football association. Those who have had recent surgeries, fractures, or are currently receiving physiotherapy will not be eligible.
Participants in the trial will be divided into two groups: one will practice myofascial self-release using a massage roller on their legs twice a week, while the other group will not. Throughout the study, their muscle performance, balance, and flexibility will be tested several times to see if the self-release technique makes a difference. Athletes will receive guidance on how to perform the tests and the self-release technique properly to ensure they are comfortable and safe during the study.
