ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Somatic Tracking for Tinnitus," is exploring how mindfulness meditation can help people who experience distressing tinnitus, which is a ringing or buzzing sound in the ears that can cause discomfort and anxiety. The study aims to see if this meditation can change how individuals view their tinnitus, making it feel less threatening and reducing both physical and emotional distress. Through guided meditation techniques that focus on mindfulness, the goal is to help participants better accept their tinnitus symptoms and feel less bothered by them.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and currently experiencing distressing tinnitus. It's important that you can understand and communicate in English and have completed any necessary medical tests related to your condition. You should not be receiving other treatments for tinnitus during the study. Participants can expect to engage in mindfulness meditation sessions that may help them manage their symptoms and improve their overall well-being. If you have serious mental health concerns, you may not be eligible to join the study.
