ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment called PuraStat®, which is a gel designed to help stop bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal area, like the stomach and intestines. The researchers want to see how well PuraStat® works when used together with adrenaline, compared to standard treatments currently available. PuraStat® has some advantages because it is clear, making it easier for doctors to see the bleeding site, and it can be used in hard-to-reach areas. Most of the previous studies on PuraStat® have been done in surgery, but this trial aims to find out how effective it is specifically for treating gastrointestinal bleeding.
To participate in the trial, you need to be over 18 years old and scheduled for endoscopic therapy to treat non-variceal gastrointestinal bleeding, which is bleeding not related to swollen veins. Unfortunately, people with certain types of bleeding or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot join. If you decide to participate, you will receive treatment during your endoscopy, and the team will monitor how well the PuraStat® and adrenaline combination works. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and your involvement could help improve treatments for future patients.
