ClinConnect Summary
The Smart-Phone Safety Behavior Fading Intervention for Appearance Concerns study is looking at how effective text message support can be for people dealing with worries about their appearance. This study compares the text message program to a relaxing video intervention to see which is more helpful for individuals with body image issues, social anxiety, or eating disorders.
To participate in this trial, you should be seeking help for concerns about your appearance. However, if you are currently in treatment for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or body image issues, or if you've changed your psychiatric medications in the last month, you won't be eligible to join. If you do qualify, you can expect to receive support through text messages or videos that aim to help you feel more comfortable with your appearance. This study is open to anyone aged 18 and older, regardless of gender, and is currently looking for participants.
