ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new smartphone app called Apneal, designed to help diagnose obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA) in patients who have head and neck lesions, which may be cancerous. OSA is a condition that causes breathing problems during sleep, leading to issues like fatigue and increased risk of heart problems. The goal of the trial is to see if this app can be an effective and easy way to diagnose sleep apnea and monitor its progress during treatment.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult undergoing tests for a suspected head and neck cancer and have confirmed that the lesion is malignant. Participants will complete a short consultation, answer some questions, and then wear the smartphone overnight to collect sleep data. This will happen at the start of your care and again six months later. If the results are unclear, an additional test may be needed. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide better, more accessible screening for sleep apnea, ultimately helping improve patients' quality of life.
