ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of telemedicine (video counseling) compared to in-person counseling for women seeking contraceptive advice. Researchers want to find out if women who receive contraceptive counseling through video calls will choose long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC), like IUDs or implants, just as often as those who meet with a midwife face-to-face. This is important because improving access to contraceptive options can help reduce unintended pregnancies, which is a significant issue in Sweden.
To participate in this study, women must be between the ages of 16 and 40 and looking to use contraception to prevent pregnancy. They should not intend to become pregnant in the next six months and need to be able to understand the study information in either Swedish or English. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive structured counseling about contraceptive options and will be asked about your choices and satisfaction with the counseling three months later. This study aims to provide valuable insights into whether telehealth can be a good option for contraceptive counseling and improve access to family planning services.
