ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the long-term effects of a medication called Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) on kidney health in patients who have chronic hepatitis B, a viral infection that affects the liver. Researchers want to understand how taking TDF for more than five years impacts kidney function over a five-year period. The trial is still in the planning stages and has not yet started recruiting participants.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to be adults aged 18 to 60 who have been diagnosed with hepatitis B and have been using TDF for more than five years. However, people with other chronic liver diseases or chronic kidney disease cannot participate. Those who join the study can expect regular check-ups to monitor their kidney health and overall well-being. It's important to know that the trial will only include patients who are not on certain other treatments, such as combinations of different antiviral medications.
