ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Barrett's Esophagus in Patients with GERD," aims to understand how common Barrett's Esophagus (BE) is among people who have long-term symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is when stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube that connects your mouth and stomach. The study will look at the characteristics of BE in these patients to gain better insights into this condition.
To participate in the trial, you must be an adult aged 65 to 74 who has been diagnosed with GERD based on symptoms or specific tests. You should also be willing to undergo an endoscopic examination, which is a procedure where a small camera is used to look at your esophagus. However, if you have a history of esophageal cancer or other esophageal diseases, or if you are unable to provide consent, you won’t be eligible for this study. Although the trial is not yet recruiting participants, it will provide valuable information about the connection between GERD and Barrett's Esophagus once it begins.
