ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a medication called dexmedetomidine may help protect blood vessels during surgery, specifically rhinoplasty, which is a procedure to reshape the nose. Researchers will measure certain substances in the blood, known as syndecan 1 and heparan sulfate, to see if dexmedetomidine can reduce damage to the blood vessels that sometimes occurs during surgery when patients are given anesthesia.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 50 and scheduled for rhinoplasty. However, if you have certain health conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes, you won't be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive either the standard anesthesia or the dexmedetomidine, and the research team will monitor your health throughout the procedure. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to provide important information about the safety and effectiveness of using dexmedetomidine in surgery.
