ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how type 1 diabetes affects blood health in children. Type 1 diabetes is a condition where the body does not produce insulin, which is important for controlling blood sugar levels. The researchers want to understand the basic blood characteristics and clotting abilities of children with type 1 diabetes, and they will compare these findings to healthy children. This is important because children with diabetes may face unique health challenges, including issues with their blood cells and the risk of complications over time.

To participate in this study, children between the ages of one month and 18 years who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes may be eligible. However, children with other types of diabetes or those who have a history of bleeding disorders or unrelated anemia will not be included. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to have their blood tested to help the researchers gather important data. This study aims to provide better insights into how diabetes affects young patients, which could lead to improved care and management strategies in the future.
