ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help doctors quickly and effectively place breathing tubes in newborns who are having serious trouble breathing. This is important because breathing difficulties are the most common reason babies need medical care in the neonatal unit. The researchers want to see if showing a short educational video right before the procedure, called a "Just-in-Time" video, can help doctors perform the intubation faster and more confidently.
To take part in this study, newborns who need a breathing tube and are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the National Maternity Hospital may be eligible. However, babies with certain airway issues or those in critical situations where there isn't enough time for the video will not be included. If a baby is selected for the study, the medical team will either watch the educational video or skip it, and researchers will compare how long the procedure takes in both groups. This trial aims to improve training for doctors and ultimately enhance care for newborns needing help with their breathing.
