ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a medication called dexmedetomidine when added to a common pain relief treatment for patients undergoing kidney surgeries. The goal is to see if dexmedetomidine can help reduce pain after surgery when used alongside another medication called bupivacaine. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 18 to 70 who are scheduled for elective kidney surgeries, such as those to remove kidney stones.
To join the study, patients should be generally healthy and have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35. However, some people may not be eligible, such as those under 18, those with certain medical conditions, or those who are allergic to the study medications. If you participate, you can expect to receive the nerve block procedure, which helps numb the area around your spine to reduce pain after surgery. This trial aims to improve pain management methods, potentially making recovery easier for patients.
