ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well two different methods, called transpulmonary thermodilution and transesophageal echocardiography, can monitor heart function during liver transplantation surgery. Both methods help doctors see how well the heart is pumping blood, which is important because liver transplant surgery can cause changes in blood flow. The trial will compare the results from these two techniques to see which one provides better information about heart function during the surgery.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults who are scheduled for a liver transplant. However, certain conditions may exclude them, such as having recent treatment for esophageal varices, previous mediastinal radiotherapy, use of a femoral bypass, or having serious artery problems in the legs. Participants in the study will have their heart function monitored using both methods at various points during the surgery, helping to improve care for future patients undergoing liver transplants.
