ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining how effective three different dental materials are for treating cavities located at the front of the mouth, specifically on the necks of teeth. The materials being tested are resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI), Giomer, and a combination of both. The goal is to see which option works best in preventing new cavities from forming around the treated area over 18 months. The study will involve 75 patients who are at higher risk for dental caries, with evaluations of the materials conducted at the start of the study and then again at 6, 12, and 18 months later.
To take part in this trial, participants must be between 18 and 55 years old and have specific types of cavities on the front surfaces of their teeth. They should also be in good general health and have a higher risk of developing cavities. However, individuals with severe gum disease, teeth grinding, or certain other dental issues, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, cannot participate. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one of the three treatments and will have their teeth checked several times during the study to monitor how well the materials hold up and how they affect sensitivity and appearance.
