ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective two different eye lubricants—hyaluronic acid and lipid-coated carbomer gel—are for treating dry eyes in diabetic patients after they have cataract surgery. The researchers are interested in seeing how well these lubricants work by checking the tear film in patients before the surgery and again two weeks and four weeks after the surgery.
To participate in this study, patients need to have a recent case of acute dry eye before their cataract surgery. However, those with a long-term (chronic) dry eye condition are not eligible. The trial is currently active, and participants can expect to have their eye health monitored closely during the post-surgery period to determine which lubricant helps alleviate their dry eye symptoms more effectively.
