ClinConnect Summary
The Geriatric Trauma Care Program (GTCP) is a clinical trial designed to help older adults who have suffered injuries to their limbs and live alone. The study aims to understand how this special care program affects pain levels, mobility, feelings of loneliness, depression, and overall quality of life over a three-month period. By participating, older adults can contribute to important research that may improve care for others in similar situations.
To join the trial, participants must be at least 65 years old, live alone, have experienced a limb injury, and have been independent before their injury. They should also be comfortable using a smartphone. However, individuals with very severe injuries, cognitive impairments, or certain psychiatric conditions are not eligible. If you or a loved one meets these criteria, participating in this study can offer the opportunity to receive support and be part of improving care for older adults facing similar challenges.
