ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a pain management technique called a "TAP block," which can be done either before or after laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery (a procedure to remove the gallbladder). The main goal is to find out if receiving the TAP block before surgery leads to less pain and a reduced need for pain relief medications compared to receiving it after the surgery. Participants in the study will be asked about their pain levels while they are in the hospital.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults over 18 years old, in generally good health (classified as ASA I-II), and able to give informed consent. However, individuals with a history of chronic pain, those on beta-blocker medications, or anyone allergic to the drugs used in the study will not be included. If you decide to participate, you will receive either the preoperative or postoperative TAP block and will help us understand which timing is more effective for managing pain after surgery.
