ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how wearing a brace affects shoulder position, movement awareness, and arm function in teenagers with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves abnormally, and braces are often used to help manage it. The researchers will test participants both while they are wearing the brace and when they are not, to see how the brace impacts their upper body. They will measure things like how well they can position their arms and how strong their muscles are through various tests.

To join the study, participants need to be between the ages of 10 and 18, have been diagnosed with AIS, and have been using a specific type of brace for at least a month. They should also be right-handed. The study will exclude individuals with other types of scoliosis, those who have had spine surgery, or have certain health conditions that could affect their ability to participate. This trial aims to better understand how bracing affects arm function and movement awareness, which could help improve treatments and rehabilitation for scoliosis in the future.
