ClinConnect Summary
The Under-PRES trial is a study looking at how often older patients might not be getting the prescriptions they need during their medical visits. Researchers want to find out how common this issue is among elderly patients who are either visiting a geriatric doctor or being admitted to a geriatric hospital ward. The goal is to understand the reasons behind these missed prescriptions so that doctors can provide better care for older adults.
To be part of this study, participants need to be older adults who are either visiting a geriatric clinic or being admitted to a hospital for elderly care. They must also be able to give their consent, or have a legal guardian who can do so for them. However, those with a very limited life expectancy, as determined by a specific scale, will not be included. If someone joins the study, they can expect to share their experiences and medical history, which will help researchers understand how to improve medication management for older adults in the future.
