ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a program called the Clinical Trials Navigator (CTN), which aims to help cancer patients find and join clinical trials more easily. Currently, less than 5% of cancer patients participate in these trials, even though they are often recommended as good options for treatment. The CTN program provides support to patients, their families, and healthcare providers by guiding them through the process of finding suitable clinical trials across Canada. After a successful pilot in Windsor, Ontario, where participation increased by 8%, the program will now be expanded to twenty cancer centers across the country.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be patients or healthcare professionals in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg, as the study is focused on these areas. Participants can expect to be part of a system that aims to improve access to clinical trials, and their experiences will be gathered through interviews before and after the program is implemented. This feedback will help identify any challenges and successes in bringing the CTN program to more cancer centers, ultimately aiming to enhance the journey of cancer patients seeking innovative treatment options.
