ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well patients recover after surgery, specifically in the post-anesthesia care unit, which is where patients go right after surgery to wake up from anesthesia. The study will use a special questionnaire called the QoR-PACU2 to understand how patients feel about their recovery in this early stage. Researchers want to find out what changes in the questionnaire responses are meaningful and how those feelings about recovery relate to the patient's overall recovery on the first day after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult between the ages of 65 and 74 who is having planned non-heart surgery lasting at least an hour. You should also be expected to stay in the post-anesthesia care unit after your surgery. Unfortunately, if your surgery requires intensive care afterward or if you cannot give consent to participate, you wouldn’t be eligible. If you join the study, you’ll complete the questionnaire to share your recovery experience, which will help improve care for future patients.
