ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how using virtual reality (VR) goggles to take a tour of the operating room can help reduce anxiety and fear in patients undergoing orthopedic surgery, such as arthroscopic procedures. The trial aims to see if watching a 360-degree video that introduces the operating room, explains the roles of the surgical team, and describes what to expect during surgery can improve patient satisfaction and help with post-operative pain management. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will watch the VR video before surgery, and the other will receive standard information about the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be between 18 and 65 years old, scheduled for arthroscopic surgery, and not have had previous surgeries. They should also be able to communicate clearly and have no serious health issues that could complicate surgery. Throughout the study, researchers will measure anxiety levels, fear, and other physical responses at various times, including before and after the surgery, to understand how the VR experience impacts patients. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it promises to provide valuable insights into improving the surgical experience for patients.
