ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how often serious complications happen related to anesthesia in children who have a tracheostomy (a surgical opening in the neck to help with breathing) when they undergo a procedure called surveillance airway endoscopy. This procedure helps doctors check the airways of these children. The study aims to find out how common these complications are and if certain factors, like the child's age or their breathing needs, affect the risk of complications.
To be eligible for this study, children must be under 18 years old, have a tracheostomy, and be scheduled for a surveillance airway endoscopy where anesthesia is required. Each child can participate in the study only once over a two-year period. During the procedure, trained anesthesiologists will monitor the children and keep track of any complications that occur. It's important for families to know that this study is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, it will help improve understanding of anesthesia safety in this specific group of patients.
